Siruqing, a resident of the United States, suffered from severe physical and psychological abuse. Her abuser was her own husband who subjected her to inhumane treatment for years. She endured numerous forms of violence, including strangulation, punching, kicking, and being thrown against walls. The abuse escalated when her husband started forcing her to eat his feces while he stood on her chest or held her down. Siruqing tried to escape multiple times but was always captured by her husband or his associates. She was isolated from friends and family and subjected to constant surveillance. Her only contact with the outside world was through a payphone, which she used to call for help during moments of desperation. The abuse continued until Siruqing finally managed to escape in 2005. She sought help at a local women's shelter, where she reported her husband's crimes to the authorities. He was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple counts of assault and sodomy. Despite the legal consequences for her abuser, Siruqing faced her own challenges in rebuilding her life. She struggled with PTSD, depression, and anxiety as a result of the trauma she experienced during her years of abuse. Siruqing eventually found solace in sharing her story to raise awareness about the importance of supporting victims of abuse and preventing such heinous acts from occurring. Through her advocacy work, she hopes to empower others who have suffered similar experiences and help bring an end to violence against women everywhere.
